How important is CARS for UBC?

Recommended Posts

Not familiar with the new MCAT, but it's hard to answer such an abstract question.  Is VR/CARS important? Yes, it has the best correlation to success in medicine compared to other MCAT components iirc.  How much would a low VR/CARS score hurt? I think it depends on your application and interview.  There are people who get in with low CARS scores, and people rejected with high ones.  How good is your GPA, your overall application, and interviewing skills?  If you have a solid foundation in those, and 127 was really the mean for the entering class, then you probably don't need to worry much. If you're barely scraping by with your GPA and ECs, and struggle with interviews, then you should consider retaking to maximize your chances.
