Which Schools are you in or been too: Mac, RMC, U Laval Program/Major: BEng, MSc (Physics) WPGA: 3.87 Ottawa area resident: Yep. Research Publications: 3 (one first-author, two co-author) Fancy Extracurricular / Travel: varsity sports (running, rowing, sailing), marathons, triathlons / Central America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe Fancy Volunteering / Clinical experience: volunteer fire fighter, IBSA (international blind games), habitat for humanity (Mexico) / Cancer Clinic Fancy Employment: a variety of engineering/research jobs including a summer in Belgium Fancy Awards: nothing too fancy – conference presentation award, governor general. Finished bachelor of science honours in biochemistry at Mc Master. GPA: 3.97 MCAT: BS-12 PS-14 VR-13 WS-S ECs include: hospital volunteer work, varsity volleyball, research and many other humanitarian projects. rugger48 Posted August 19, 2006 Report Share Posted August 19, 2006 did my honours BSc. at U of T with a double major in physiology and math and a minor in sociology. first time applying to med schools. i applied to U of T, queens, mcmaster, western and ottawa. got rejected pre-interview at mcmaster. i interviewed at the other 4 schools. accepted: U of T, ottawa, waitlisted: western, queens I have whole-heartedly accepted U of T. MCAT: PS 12, BS 12, VR 10, WS S GPA: 3.93 (U of T formula) 2 summers of reseaerch (no publications), volunteered in various departments in hospitals, BBDC, SLRI. tons of student government positions, terms in residence/student council, varsity rugby, coach intramural rugby, play Div I intramural soccer, high school softball team, cross country team etc., 3 years doing orientation/frosh week, RA for my floor in rez, various university clubs and organizations, a few scholarships (mostly academic), tutoring high school and university students, many part-time jobs etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
