How do we know if as a graduate applicant we were placed on the grad waitlist or on the undergrad waitlist?

My acceptance letter/package didn't say anything about sending in transcripts... is this something everyone is supposed to do anyway? Or is this only for people who applied while they were students (and hence had something updated on their transcripts since last fall)?
