I know you have to be a full time practicing physician for 12 months before applying for it in Ontario; does Locuming count as 'full time'? Also, for people who have gone through this, how did you maintain your skills and build your application for the program you're applying to? I imagine after 12 months of mostly family practice, unless the program is very closely related (e.g. emerg, IM, +1 hospitalist etc) it would be difficult to get LoRs and recent relevant experience. I'm wondering how feasible it actually would be for regular physicians who don't have insider connections to the program/ someone who can 'put in a good word' for them. Thanks all!
