Essay Requirement

Hey Everyone.

Did those of you who received acceptance/waitlist letters have a paragraph about the essay requirement at the end?

I am just wondering if the paragraph was unique to my waitlist letter or if it was just part of the standard letter.

I don't really see why I need to e-mail Western a course description, especially since I did an Honours BSc in Psychology and where I'm from you have to write a mini-thesis to get an honours degree, plus I had to write essay in about 1/2 the courses I've taken in my undergrad. But I was looking at the course descriptions anyways, and none of them actually states that essays are required (I mean, generally it describes what the course covers, not how the students are evaluated).

So in the event that I do get in off the waitlist, am I really going to have to get one of my profs to write a letter to Western, or will they be able to see from my transcript that I have obviously taken an essay course?

Thanks for any advice on this, I'm kind of scared to call them because of the "It would be appreciated if you would refrain from calling the office with any telephone inquiries" that is in bold print on my letter.
