lab requirement

Hey gang,

Just wondering about the lab requirement as stated on the admissions page.

The requirement for a 1/2 orgo course with lab is clear, but is there any chance that:

"one full or equivalent course in Biology with a laboratory component" would be satisfied by two half courses in biology, one with a lab, one without?

Since I'm doing all my courses via DE (no labs available) I'm going to have to decide in January '05 whether or not to enroll in the labs (and do the courses again if necessary to get into the labs) to get these requirements out of the way..

Obviously, I won't have any way of getting these done after (if) I receive an acceptance, and I guess I won't even know if I meet the cutoffs by the time I'd have to enroll either.

Has anyone faced any situation like this before, or is it just one of the hurdles from doing correspondence?

Thanks,

Steak

<title>Re: Admission in 2007</title>

<pagetext>I was checking out UWO MEd's site and its got something new posted saying that

Subject to Senate Approval. Will affect those applying in 2006 for entry in 2007

To be eligible to apply, students must have completed or be currently enrolled in a program leading to a four-year honours degree or equivalent from a recognized university and expect to have completed a minimum of 20 full or equivalent courses by the end of the academic year (September - April) in which application is being made.

Only those terms in which at least five full or equivalent courses (30 credit hours) are taken will be used in the calculation of GPA admission cutoffs.

Three full or equivalent senior courses (second year and above) must be included in at least one of the two undergraduate years being used to determine compliance with established GPA cutoffs.

The minimum GPA must be met in EACH of the two undergraduate years.

The second change is that we will no longer be asking for any prerequisites. however, we will state on our web site courses that we highly recommend you take.

It doesn't talk about MCAT requirements, so does that mean for the entering class of 2007, they won't be requiring the MCAT at all?

And another thing, Western has this Science courses requirments, right? And it says you need like a 1/2 course in O.Chem w/ lab and a 1/2 course in Biochem

I just want to make sure that if I took a 1/2 course in O.CHem w/ lab and a full course in Biochem, that will fullfil their requirements right?
