No.

Initially, they send out 133 acceptances for 133 spots.

Then there's the waiting list.

Which moves.

Sometimes rather a lot.

234 total offers by the end of it.

We can tell you stories about the waiting list...

Maybe later...

Crackers is right.

There are currently 133 spots at UWO....there were 420ish interviewed for them last year and 133 acceptances were mailed out on May 31st....(to the 133 top applicants as determined by 25% GPA, 25% MCAT and 50% interview)....the rest of the 420ish interviewees were either a) waitlisted (no rank given) or B) rejected. The waitlistees were given a couple of weeks to confirm their spot on the list or give it up....

The 133 initial acceptees had two weeks to make a decision to either a) accept outright, B) accept conditionally and remain on the wait list at other schools until July 3rd or c) reject western's offer.....western then started going down the waiting list and made a second round of offers....# of second round offers = # of initial acceptees that rejected their spot. The round two acceptees then had two weeks....and then round three started....again # of third round offers = # of second round acceptees that rejected their spot....and on and on and on until the class was filled. The final offers were made by telephone....(late Aug). When the dust had settled they had made 234 offers to fill the 133 seats....

Hey all,

For those of you wondering, of the 417 (?) interviewed last year, 234 were ultimately offered acceptance by UWO at one point in time or another for the 2006 class. That translates into 56.12% of those interviewed being successful.

Simply put, getting the interview is the hardest part. After that, it's relatively easy...sort of.

Best of luck!

Timmy

Aneliz, if no rank is given to the people on the waiting list, how do they determine who gets the next free spot? Alphabetically? :D Or, when a spot opens, do they look at ALL the applications on the waiting list and choose the best?

Or, is this info classified? ;)

JJ would like to be able to tell you...but first I would have to tell him...and then I would have to kill him...and you still wouldn't have the answer....;)

Anyway...that information is highly classified...and the short answer is that there *is* ranking done....BUT the applicants are never told where they rank....you won't know if you are first, last or somewhere in between.

If you call the admissions office and ask about where you are on the list and how fast it is moving or what your chances are, etc....you won't get any answer beyond "I'm sorry but we are not releasing that information and I can't tell you anything...."

The waiting list is one of the great mysteries of the application process....but thankfully, it is still many months away!
