which dat

It's overall better to take the Canadian DAT because most American schools will accept it (not all) but, no Canadian school accepts the US DAT because it doesn't have a manual dexterity component. However, if you're applying for this cycle, you may have a tougher time getting acceptances because your Canadian DAT scores will arrive fairly late in the application process. US schools work on rolling admissions, therefore, the earlier you get your info in, the better your chances.

I personally took the American DAT this summer and applied to US schools and am also taking the Canadian DAT in November.

It also depends on your GPA, letters of rec., interview, essay, etc. If you have a 3.7-3.9, you have a better chance of getting in even with your late DAT scores. If you submitted your application early, in June or July for example, you could even get in to most schools with a 3.4-3.6 no problem at all (depending on your DATs i.e. 20s across).
