What does "on probation mean"?

Please elaborate, I don't think anyone understands your question. Also, don't write 'and' before et cetera, it is redundant. :P

I may be wrong but i'll take a stab

 

I believe that means that in med school you will be watched like a hawk, and if your marks arn't good enough they will give you the boot without a second thought. (I think)

Windig0 is talking about admission to undergrad, not medicine, although Silverbullet is otherwise right. Universities generally use the term 'probation' to mean that if your grades don't meet certain standards, you will be suspended or expelled.
