Guest mintchoco
Is it possible to take a course via distance learning to fulfill the bio pre-reqs for medical school admission? I looked on the admissions websites. Only UWO seems to insist on a laboratory component - so I guess distance learning wouldn't work here. Queens and U of T don't mention anything. Guest Lorae
There's a thread regarding Athabasca University just down a couple of rows. I would be careful when planning your sciences. The way I understand things, a full-year basic science course (first year level) always has a lab component. Even the Athabasca university (distance learning) first year biology course has a lab component (I had to go to Athabasca Alberta for 10 full days in the summer, but the curriculum has changed so it's not 10 days anymore). I'd be really careful if deciding to take a course like biology without a lab component. Some schools may not care, but you could be limiting your options. Always keep as many options open as you can!
