Hey everyone,

this is my first time here. I'm really happy that I found a website with a forum for all canadian med schools. (FINALLY!)

I recently applied to all french schools in quebec. I went for the interviews at Umontreal and Sherbrooke and refused from ULaval. I'm pretty sure I screwed up my interview at Umontreal so I'm putting all my effort on USherbrooke.

Please answer the following questions. They go to all past university applicants at USherbrooke:

I would like to know:

1. If you got called for the TAAMUS

2. What was your GPA before applying

3. What program were you in/which year

4. What was the final answer

I will start this by giving away my stats:

1. Yes

2. 3.84/4.3

3. 3rd year biology student

4. No answer yet!

Thanks a lot!!!

Hi DW,

Welcome to our neck of the woods... Where a lot of us spend time procrastinating rather than doing real work :)

I applied at USherbrooke twice (2002 and 2003).

I got the TAAMUS both times.

Was also waitlisted both times.

GPA (2002) 3.75 (Honours Biochemistry, 3rd yr)

GPA (2003) 3.80 (Biochem B.Sc. Obtained)

3.4 (Pharmacy, 1st yr)

Well, never made it past the waitlist i'm afraid :o

Oh well, i believe everything happens for a reason.

Hope everything works out for you.

Well why not posting a negative answer since this could help others...

1)So I did NOT get invited for the TAAMUS

2)B.Sc. biology/physiology McGill GPA 3.5/4.0

3)Last year of M.Sc. in Neurological Sciences McGill (4.0/4.0)

4)Well I am waiting for Universite de Montreal only, unfortunately not for Sherbrooke.

It seems to me that the TAAMUS is questionnable in terms of its ability to detect people's motivations for medicine, I heard 17 people dropped off last year at Sherbrooke...I am not sure about the number but it seemed large to me, in light of so many people like myself truly motivated for med, this is scandalous.
