When to apply if trying in the 2nd year.

Hello:

I'm currently at the end of my 1st year at U of S and will try getting into med school in my 2nd year. I contacted the coordinator Heather and she said the deadline for applications each year is december 1. and that "the deadline for prerequisites to be complete is April 30th of the current year you are applying" ...

I am interpreting this as: I can apply by 2006 december during my 2nd year, if my prereqs are complete as of April 2007.

 

Am I even interpreting this correctly? If so, How does this make sense? How would they count my two-year average when there are at least 4 or 5 courses which i'm taking in the 2nd semester.

Or did I not read this correctly? Can anyone help?

yup, you have it right. They will wait until April grades are in before they calculate your average.
