Guest Biochem3010
I was just curious as how does universities in particularly UBC look at pass/fail courses? For example, one might try an education degree which has no letter grades but has credits added towards completion. Does the admissions ignore all those courses/credits, lets say in calculating the GPA for last 60 or overall mark? If anyone knows, then it could be useful. Thanks.... Guest scrubbed
At a feedback session, I was told that any P/F courses are not considered in your academic score. This makes sense: as a P mark cannot be quantified. However, they may give your the degree a consideration on your application if your admission comes down to a tiebreak after the interview, but they wouldn't do anything about it pre-interview. It's somewhat unfortunate, as students often do better in graduate courses whether it be letter grade courses or P/F courses, but that's how it goes. Hope this helps.
