Guest Sorcham
Just a quick one. Can anyone tell me how they went about finding information about schools and their programs? Also, basic information regarding clerkships, residencies etc? Thanks!
Guest FungManX
I usually just use google, or SDN, or this forum and just ask around. For the Universities residents stuff, just look up the CaRMS website, they have a list of all the specialties and where everyone in that specific specialty came from. Guest adduction
I used a lot of SDM myself but the one thing you can't beat is the school's website itself! Go check out the actual med school pages and learn about their curriculum, admissions process, selection criteria etc. While you do this I'd recommend (either mentally or on paper) making a comparison for each school so you know how UBC med differs from U of C Med. This will help during interview time - especially when you get asked "Why our school?". Check with your local Pre-Med club as well on campus. they normally have a few events at some point that brings this info to those interested in applying in the near future.
