Guest Crazypremed
Hi, I read in some of the posts that someone (I think "604EL") failed first year medical school? Is this really possible? I heard that it is a pass/fail system and it is really hard to fail out? or is first year suppose to be killer? Crazypremed
Guest kellyl20
He did not fail, he was kidding. There was a person who did fail one year b/c he was clinically depressed.
Guest 604EL
hey crazypremed, I was just joking. Don't worry, once you get in, they try really hard to make sure that you get through the program. Sorry if I gave you a panic attack.
Guest AssDr
It's almost impossible to fail out of med school at UBC. So if you manage to do so, you probably shouldn't be in there. Generally when you fail portions of the year, you have to do remedial work duing the summer and rewrite the exams. If you can't pass them the 2nd time around, you go back to first year in the fall. At which point again, if you find yourself in this situation, med school might not be for you. Cheers.
Guest FungManX
Okay, so if what AssDr says is true, how does one manage to fail out of UBC if they keep making you re-take stuff?
