Question regarding waitlist

Hello all fellow waitlisters! I now know all too well what is meant by the term 'waitlist purgatory'....my patience is truly being tested here!!

 

My question: I know last year NOSM made it up to around 25/26 on their waitlist. I'd like to know if that number includes/excludes the waitlisters that dropped off the list entirely becuase of offers to other schools etc. For example, could the 25th person offered a seat at NOSM from the waitlist have initially been ranked at say...30, prior to waitlisters dropping off the list?

 

In case nobody could tell, I'm at 30 now....not quite out of the ballpark of last year's number, but far enough for me to seriously doubt getting in this year!

Last year NOSM got to #27 on the waiting list of 53. If people dropped out of the list as the summer progressed, they just skipped to the next person.

 

Number 25 on the list may have actually been 19 because of drop outs but they don't call and give you a new number- they just keep calling down the list:)
