Guest Public Health girl
I am not sure whether to state in full Northern Ontario School of Medicine once in my answer before using NOSM or to just refer to it as NOSM right away without stating it in full. Also, if stating it in full is the way to go, should we indicate NOSM in brackets after stating it in full before using the acronym later in the paragraph?? So many little details to iron out!!! Guest docormama
I think you'll be okay just saying NOSM. Do they use the short form anywhere else in the application?
Guest NurseNathalie
I don't think that you would be judged negatively for using the acronym from the get-go... the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) = 48 characters... (counting the empty space before and after, of course) NOSM = 6 characters what matters is what you have to say... and how you can say it in such a confined space
