Guest mirrille Posted June 1, 2003 Report Share Posted June 1, 2003 I'm not the best person to talk, because I'm not that interested in student council and haven't run for anything. Student reps are elected. You can be on the class council or the MSA( Medical Students Association). There is alot of interest in these positions, but my impression is that there is alot duplication between the two bodies (e.g. there would be a sports rep for MSA and a sports rep for each class). The positions range from ones where you do alot of work all year round (e.g. president) to ones where you just organize one event in the year and then you are done (e.g. orientations rep). So it works out that most people who really want something can eventually get a position that suits their schedule. Perhaps someone actually on these councils can talk more about it?
