Guest chatterbox
hello, i'm looking to buy a solid handbook for my pediatrics clerkship and have come across two handbooks, both of which seem highly acclaimed. the harriet lane from johns hopkins and the HSC handbook of pediatrics. would anyone have any opinion as to which one would be more useful to the clerk? and also, what other texts would you recommend for a pediatrics rotation? thanks! chatterbox
Guest aneliz
I used the sick kids one... the principal advantage is that it is canadian and therefore the lab values, etc are in Canadian units and the drugs have canadian trade names. They are both basically the same content but with a little different organisation.

blinknoodle
I used the Harriet Lane book during my paediatrics rotation. I wasn't a huge fan of it since it felt quite scattered and incomplete, but haven't been able to compare it to the Sick Kids Handbook.
