My friend's a nurse, she works DAMN hard. I give much credit to nurses. Granted there are some really not so nice nurses, but seriously they do alot of work for the patient and they are usually the first point of contact for the patient. Yea and this has nothing to do with your question but i don't think they get as much as docs, since docs do more school and need to pay off more debt but they do get a pretty penny.

If you are an Nurse Practitioner or a CRNA in the US, you can earn upwards of 110-120k. Nurse Practitioners are coming to Canada (in fact, they are already here), so in a few years you may see salaries similar to those in the US.

hey moo,

I thought that NP's and PA's made significantly less than that, like around 60-70 k/year. 110-120k looks really similar to what a regular FP would be making in the states.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

In Ontario, floor nurses make between 44 and 67K a year, depending on their experience. Entry to practice now requires a 4-year degree (BScN), although many nurses have more education than this. Ontario Nurse Practitioners (primary care and acute care) and Clinical Nurse Specialists usually make between 70 and 90K, and have a Master's degree or post-baccalaureate certificate. Nurses with PhDs, masters degrees (and some with Bachelors degrees) may work in research, education, policy development or administration, and can make over 100K a year.
