However, if you have some significant illness (and must be off) or condition (for example, you are pregnant and about to give birth), they have done this. They will not give you a deferral if you just want an extra year off to work, or travel or finish a degree, etc. From the Dal FAQ website:( admissions.medicine.dal.ca/faqs.htm) 46. If I'm accepted to Dalhousie Medical School can I delay or defer admission for a year? "Deferrals are rarely granted and usually only for very specific, often medical, reasons.
