Guest Ian Wong
I can't vouch for the accuracy of this information, but I ran into it and figured that I should post it for accessibility reasons. It's a short list of tasks that an IMG must complete to have a chance at practising medicine in Canada. careertips.com/Canada_f_univ_med_foreigngrads.htm Ian UBC, Med
Guest iris
hey! thanks for putting up the link, i've been trying to look for the same info...but only ran across it in your site. it's a big help. i'm also in 3rd yr in the Philippines and am thinking of doing residency in Canada. But as it stands i think it's acutally easier to take my residency in the US. Would you know if I would need extra requirements to practice in Can even after i do residency in the US? iris
Guest Ian Wong
I have no idea. I've never looked into that (since I'm planning on doing a Canadian residency, that never came up), and as far as I know, the vast majority of physician movement is out of Canada and into the States. I think the majority of physicians going the other direction are Canadian physicians returning from working in the US, so they are already licensed.
