Guest ink
Hi: I am a student from an American University. Does anyone know if grades will be converted into Canadian Scales or will it be kept as is when I apply to a Canadian Medical School? The grading system here is: 90-100 A 80-89 B 70-79 C 60-69 D anything below is failing. Thanks.
Guest CC
My American friend, you can be sure that your grades will be converted into Canadian scales. These scales differ among the various schools.
Guest Ian Wong
Just for a sampler, you can check out the GPA conversion tables used by OMSAS. OMSAS is the Ontario equivalent of the American AMCAS system. OMSAS is a centralised site that will distribute your application to the five Ontario medical schools. Their published GPA table can be found here, in .pdf format (you'll need to have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer). Scroll down to page 15. www.ouac.on.ca/omsas/pdf/OMSAS2001e.pdf Ian UBC, Med
