[Guest vhochla]

I just read that applicants who are not Canadian citizens, nor residents of Canada, are not accepted to Ottawa U. My father was born in Canada so I technically have a dual citizenship that the US may or may not recognize. Does anyone know if I am eligible to apply or not?

A few of us will be helping you guys out with mock interviews. We've decided on this sat. morning but still have to work out a time depending on how many of you are interested. Nothing too complicated, just email Mistah Anderson or myself if you're interested and can make it then, we'll send you your time of mock interview, bring your sketch and we'll just have a great time!

 

Just a quick disclosure- I heard that those who attended the interview already had to sign a letter of confidentiality stating you would not disclose any interview questions or names of interviewers. Just so you guys know, none of us conducting the interviews are part of the interviewing team or have any inside knowledge as to what the questions are. All we have is a desire to help you guys practice talking about yourselves. Given we don't know you, we believe it's something we can offer that you might not be able to get with family and friends.

I was wondering whether anyone could comment about taking a leave of absence during medical school to pursue a graduate degree. I know Ottawa doesn't have an MD/PhD program, and I remember hearing about the time off for research at an Ottawa presentation a few years ago.

 

Has anyone actually taken the absence? Can it be done? Do you have to pursue your graduate degree at the University of Ottawa ?

 

I also heard the write-up for the MD/PhD program had been approved by the graduate schools but was waiting to be approved by the medical school.. Has it progressed any further?
