Guest extrachromasome
Does anyone know what kind of applicant to places ratio exists for the CCFP-emerg programs? Is it a little over 1:1 or is it more like 2 or 3:1? I know most programs get a lot of applicants, but what I'd like to know is how many people in total apply across the country and how many spots there are. Thanks! Guest DrSahsi
The number of applicants per individual position is quite high, but the majority of these applicants are applying to multiple positions. Of course, there are lots of ways to gain CCFP(EM) certification, so many doors are open.

supafield
Haha the OP may have been Emerge staff for 4-5 years at this point. However, good to know what the ratios are today.
rogerroger
If I recall correctly the university with the best ratio of family med spots to CCFP+EM spots is Queens. This could be something to consider if one is looking at this career path. I wouldn't make it the end all be all. But something to weigh.

The reason is they have a huge number of spots compared to the size of their program. It's definitely something to think about if you're gunning for CCFP-EM.
