Guest moo Posted September 13, 2005 Report Share Posted September 13, 2005 Unfortunately this is not standardized but generally you can treat semester hours the same as credit hours. Three semester hours are generally awarded for courses that are one semester long, and meet for three hours a week. Four semester hours generally include a lab component along with the lecture. Some schools are anal and even though your Canadian course might have a lecture and lab component, if your transcript only shows 3 credits, they will want you to take another course to make up that one credit.
