B.Sc. for Med school in the US

Hi,

I was wondering if you needed a B.Sc. to go to MD school in the US?

I'm earning my B.Comm. right now, but I'm curious to know if the US is like Canada whereby they'd accept a student in any faculty as long as they've done the pre-reqs and written the MCAT.

If there are schools that accept non-science background individuals, can someone give me a sample list of these schools?

Thanks in advance

Having a BComm will not hurt you. In fact, I would say that US schools are a lot more welcoming of students who have studied in a discipline other than the traditional biology and life sciences.

Statistically, the majors with the highest acceptance rates to med schools in the US have been English and philosophy majors. No discrimination exists.
