Guest Elaine I
Recently, there was a thread on the Western forum about the teaching style at Western - that it was mostly classroom-based, with a bit of PBL thrown in. Is Queen's similar, or more PBL-based? I am still trying to figure out all of the differences between Queen's and Western, other than the timing of clerkship and demographics of the class. Thanks for your help. Elaine
Guest strider2004
It's very similar - Western and Queen's. PBL once a week, classroom based every morning. Mainly clinical/small groups stuff in the afternoons. The big difference is that Western has a shorter basic sciences unit and a longer school term(Queen's has longer summers off). This translates into an earlier start time for clerkship at UWO. In the end, we have equally long clerkships since UWO goes 'back to basics' for the final term, 4th year.
