Stipend during Clerkships?

Guest KJ

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if Ontario med students get a stipend in clerkship. When my aunt attended med school (like 15 years ago!) she said she got a stipend...so I'm wondering if that's the case these days too.

Thanks!

Hey there,

Alberta students also receive a monthly stipend of a similar amount--a fact which shocked the McGill students that I worked with while in Montreal.

Cheers,

Kirsteen

So do UBC students.

McGill and other Quebec students get a huge stipend for their entire MDs by virtue of the fact that they are only paying ~$3000/year tuition.

Yes. I think that both UofA and UofC students receive the same amount (because the funding is provincial) for a total of $279.44 per month for 12 months.
