Ahimsa
Hello, I was wondering what the typical length of a year is in medical school. Is it similar to undergrad, which runs from September to May, or does it run year-long? Thanks very much, Ahimsa
TimmyMax
Hey, I can only comment on the timing at UWO. The medical school year runs from the 1st week of September (last week of August if you attend O-Week festivities) until the 1st week of June during years 1 and 2. Year 3 (clerkship) goes all 52 weeks with 3 weeks off for holidays and Year 4 runs from September until the 1st week of May, with June off for sleeping, moving, globetrotting or whatever. Convocation for medicine is usually in mid-May and residency starts on the 1st of July, just like it does every year! Hope this helps!
