DrSmiles
Hope everyone is wrapping up their CaRMS apps with minimal stress! I'm madly finishing and just had a quick question - do we have to send a letter of reference from our homeschool? Some schools ask for a max of 3 letters and I would rather have them all be from other schools where I did electives, since I think those letter would be stronger/carry more weight. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! DrSmiles
Kirsteen
Hi there, From the programs that I've applied to, none have stressed that a letter must come from a preceptor at the home medical school. In general, I really don't think this point matters all that much. Most programs would probably rather read a good letter that describes you and your work in detail no matter which school the preceptor is from. All that being said, I certainly haven't looked at the reference letter stipulations for each program, so it's best to check those carefully in case any do make such suggestions. Cheers, Kirsteen
