katerade
Hi This question may have been answered already, but I was wondering what Ottawa's cut-off for Ontario residents (not from ottawa) was last year. And just so I'm clear, this refers to the calculated GPA right? also, does anyone think the double cohort is going to affect things in terms of the cutoff? it didnt seem to increase the queens cutoff that much. Thanks for your help!

degoo_
I think all the data for Ottawa is from last year. But it doesn't tend to change too much. ±0.01 (although I'd bet on +).
Talon01
I am a little confused. Is the IP (Outside of Ottawa) GPA requirement 3.83 for this round of interviews? Or was this from last year? That's last years data but the GPA's cutoffs tend to relatively similar year to year. Good luck!

0T6
In one of the referred threads, someone posted that they called the office and got confirmation that does numbers are correct for this year as well.
temp_degoo
Does Ottawa's weighted GPA use the OMSAS GPAs as starting points? Or transcript GPAs?
uofthopeful07
Does Ottawa's weighted GPA use the OMSAS GPAs as starting points? Or transcript GPAs? you applied to ottawa through omsas, so i believe they will use the OMSAS gpa. that's my reasoning although this year, even dalhousie used the omsas conversion scale. Vector
I was able to find out this year's OOP cutoff by simply e-mailing the admissions office. Perhaps if you ask for the IP cut-off in an e-mail they will also give out that information.

Actually, OMSAS isn't representative of the GPA for Ottawa. I learned that the hard way last year. Another thing to consider is that if you took any courses in the summer, those will be calculated into OMSAS' gpa, but not ottawa's. ________ Growing Marijuana
Talon01
I believe the OMSAS calculates your GPA from every course you have taken throughout all your education. However, different schools that don't use every course from every year (Queens, UWO, UO, UT, etc) don't use the OMSAS GPA that shows up on the OMSAS application page but they calculate it using their own formula from your course GPA's submitted. Talon01
So the OMSAS GPA is representative for MAC meds (I believe).
Satsuma
Well, Ottawa will calculate the wGPA based on their weighting formula. But I believe they still use the OMSAS converted course marks rather than your "actual marks" on your transcript. That is probably what Talon was getting at...but just to help clarify
