UBC requires a full year of english

Manitoba requires a full year of English or French literature

That's all I know - I'm sure there are others. You are of course best off verifying this stuff on your own if you get serious about applying to any particular program.

Ummm.... I thought all of them do.

Calgary and Alberta do for sure in addition to UBC and Manitoba as stated by thatuvicguy

I don't think Calgary requires english.

"We RECOMMEND, but do not require, that applicants have taken a full year of each of: biology, chemistry, physics, English, organic chemistry, biochemistry and physiology as well as a semester of psychology, sociology or anthropology and a semester of calculus or statistics." (Answer to #7 in admissions.myweb.med.ucal...ions.html)

whats the point of taking english if i've taken philosophy? it seems rather redundant. if they just want me to develop some sort of ability in writing, then it seems i can develop that equally well by taking philosophy.
