andros Posted April 12, 2007 Report Share Posted April 12, 2007 Hi, I'm not sure if you mean for fellowships or residency, but for residency in the US you will need the USMLEs. As for fellowships, I've heard that some programs need them while others do not... however, I have been told that in order to get a certain visa (not sure which one... it allows you to bill during your fellowship, I think) you need the USMLEs. Everyone I've spoken to about them has told me I should take them. I'm really kicking myself for not getting Step 1 out of the way after med 2 like I was considering.
