cruiser
I guess this goes in here more than it does anywhere else... What insurance benefits have you been getting as a resident? (dental, eyeglasses, orthopedic shoes, etc.) Just wondering what we should expect when we enter residency. Thanks!
agregson
Every province has it's own collective agreement so this will vary a little from place to place. I think most agreements provide basic medical coverage, some extended (eg. prescriptions, dentistry, optometry etc.) and life insurance. Some provinces also have long term disability as part of the benefit package provided to residents. The best way to find out exactly what the benefits are is to find the provincial residents association website for the provinces you are interested in (eg. PAIRA in Alberta, PARBC in BC, PAIRO in Onatrio).
