rskhan29@hotmail.com
Hey guys, I'm currently at UoT. I'm going to be applying to medical school soon, so I've been looking at University of Ottawa's prerequisites. I am a bit confused by their chemistry requirement. They state the following: 3. and 4. the equivalent of two full-year courses of the following Chemistry courses:i) General Biochemistry without laboratory session; ii) General Chemistry with laboratory session; iii) Organic Chemistry with laboratory session. I'm hoping this means 2 full years of total chemistry courses and not 2 years of each, otherwise I'm screwed. I've taken 1 full year of Organic chemistry with lab, 1/2 year of general chemistry with lab, and 1/2 year of general biochemistry without lab. Would this be enough, or do I need to take more chemistry? I've already e-mailed them, but they didn't reply last time so I'm not holding my breath for a response from that channel. P.S. Doesn't it really suck that UoT only offers the follow-up course to Chem139 without a lab component? Argh. ..
JOTCH
I'm pretty sure you've got what you need already. Your orgo makes up 1 years since it has a lab, and gen chem and biochem make up the other year. So you're good.
EESH
That's pretty much all I took. It's 2 full years made up of all of those courses, not each... otherwise you'd have to be a chem major. Just think about it, 2 full years of general chem with lab? eww
Julie
It's pretty much what I have too. You're fine.
