Dr.Daisy
Hi There, I just had a couple simple questions: I know that physics is not a pre-req for UBC but is it mandatory for the MCAT or just useful? And, if you take two upper level english courses do they take the place of your first year pre-reqs?
Mitch
Hi, I can't answer the physics part of the question, but as for the English....I would check specifically with one of the med advisors. I have done a graduate degere at UBC, with a large amount of writing for research, etc., and I currently write for a living; I have all sorts of writing and communications courses, but not a direct equivalent of first year English....so they're making me write the English exemption test (EET)!! If I pass, I get exempted, if I don't, it's hello first yr English course! So, the moral of my story is don't assume that upper level courses will be acceptable for the first year pre-req! VitaminC
I'm pretty sure that if you go to UBC for your undergrad, your english courses need to be first-year courses (i.e. ENG 110 and 112), or else you have to check if you're studying elsewhere.
