UnderDog
If a poster is the nearest thing to a publication that you have, but you're the 2nd or 3rd author on it, would you still put it in the OMSAS 48?
avenir001
yes definitely include it if u've got room for it.
UnderDog
Anymore opinions on this subject? What if the poster with my name (2nd or 3rd author) was presented at multiple conferences/events. Would it be advisable to put each conference down as a separate activity in the OMSAS 48? Each time the poster was presented there was additional information on it, its part of a multiple year long project (with a small part by me - summer student)
kiwi
I agree with avenir..you should list it if you have space for it. I had a poster which was presented at a couple conferences and noted it on my sketch (I think I kept it as one item).
patiently waiting
You should put down all the of the conferences the poster was presented at, provided that you changed the title of the poster - even slightly - for each of the conferences. That's what I did (I'm going into my second year meds at U of Ottawa). Good luck.
UnderDog
Would a poster still be worth putting down even if I WAS NOT the presenter? I was one of the authors of the data is all.
Charlatan
You should definitely put it down, especially since you have got no other publications (eg. journal article). Even though a poster is obviously not as impressive, you should not downplay your achievements!
mbene085
It's all about making the strongest 48-point list you can. Definitely include the poster as one point...and maybe expand it for the multiple conferences if your last few points would otherwise end up being "Extracurricular - Television Enthusiast" or something like that
SpanishFly
how would you guys list shadowing experience? "Physician shadow?" haha...I hate this 48 sketch of my apparently not busy/exciting/fulfilling enough life
