How much does pre-med school experience matter for CaRMS and beyond?

Do they look at previous work experience and all that? The reason I ask is because I'm working at the job from hell and I'm quitting in 2 weeks to start med but they are treating me like garbage and refusing to give me benefits and things they technically owe me so I am refusing to do degrading chores. So obviously no glowing reference from them.

For your carms application you'll use references you've gathered during medical school. Do not use a reference from an undergraduate job (unless it's medical/research related).

Speaking of programs that require an undergrad transcript: how heavily is this weighted? Will it really make that big of a difference in my application to a competitive speciality?

I doubt it would count that heavily. I remember reading a post that said they probably use it as a tiebreaker.
