doc_911 Posted July 20, 2008 Report Share Posted July 20, 2008 Do we have to use only factual examples on WS? on the aamc website they say:" In the writing sample exercise, you are expected to compose a short, reasoned discussion based on a statement of opinion, philosophy, or policy." No matter what they are asking, are we obligated to draw only form historical examples? What if you don't know enough about a certain thing? Any ideas..? cas1234 Posted July 21, 2008 Report Share Posted July 21, 2008 I'm pretty sure you can use hypothetical examples as well given that they are logical and make sense. The impression I get is that to do well on the WS, its how you use your examples and explain it to support your argument rather than just the quality of the examples themselves. Tan008 Posted July 21, 2008 Report Share Posted July 21, 2008 You can most definitely use hypothetical examples, just make sure your examples actually support what you are trying to say and are consistent with the overall idea of you essay.
