peteska
Hi, I'm coming into U of A med for September. I'm from Edmonton, so I know it's a pretty car-centric city to start with. Is a car an absolute necessity for years 3 and 4 (i.e. rotations at Royal Alex, Grey Nuns, Glenrose ending late at night)? Thanks, Peter

0nsp
Yes...and no I've actually had friends with no car bus it everywhere, but then you get up RETARDED early and transfer like 2 busses, or have a raelly loving girlfriend give you lifts. Its doable, but ridiculously rough, esp when you have rounds at the Mis , then teaching at the UofA, followed by teaching at the Alex, all within hours of each other for surgery. I suppose once you get to your site in the morning, you can bum rides off someone. Long story short, yes you can, but I would just spring for a car. And at the price of the dollar, you can get a decent car from the States off your line of credit.
