GPA question

I've been reading around in the forum and I have a question regarding Ottawa's minimum GPA requirement. I have been reading differing answers regarding Ottawa's minimum GPA...some people say it is 3.85 and some say 3.87. My current wGPA at Ottawa is 3.85, so what exactly is the minimum GPA required? It doesn't explicitly state it anywhere. Btw, I am a GTA resident (I know that's kind of important).

Ottawa's minimum gpa requirement is set based on the application pool and therefore changes from year to year. There are things that are somewhat like "set" gpa cutoffs, like if you are applying as an anglophone grad student, you must have an undergrad gpa of at least 3.5 or if your an aboriginal, the minimum is a 3.0 (under special circumstances). Also, your location plays a lot into it. So I guess most people just apply and see what happens.

for a GTA resident applying to the english program, last year's cut-off was 3.85. The year before was 3.83. Cutoffs vary a bit based on applicant pool, but these numbers are a good ballpark.

I live in Ottawa and I have a wGPA of 3.62.... do you think its worth trying for OttawaU med school? last year's cutoff was a 3.65 for my region.....its so close so I want to try for it, but what are the chances of it actually going down?

None of us (or at least I don't think so) are on the adcom, so its really hard to say. You are really close and I dunno if Ottawa is that strict about their gpa cutoffs, you can still try. Besides, the gpa cutoff varies from year to year and is set based on the incoming applicant pool.
