mvdaog
Hi UBC meds... hows it goin? A UofC med here, but a BC boy for life. I was wondering if any current students/past students know about bursaries/scholarships available to family doctors wanting to work in a rural areas? I know theres some things, just having trouble finding info on it. The one here in alberta is if you agree to work for 5 years in a rural area they'll pay your tuition... thing is the rural area has to be in alberta and you have to be from a rural area in alberta. I was wondering if theres similar things offered to UBC students, and if it is available to someone like me who grew up in a small town in BC and plans to work in a small town when I get out. Thanks thanks thanks for any info if anyone knows...... Cheers!
dr nomis
Such funding is provided jointly by the BC Ministry of Health and the BCMA, and is administered through the REAP program (Rural Education Action Plan).
