kalia
Hi, I was wondering for Canadian students in US medical schools, is it possible to apply to residency in both Canada and the US at the same time (AKA submitting an application to both ERAS and CARMS) in the same year? Or are they mutually exclusive?
UserName
you can apply to both at the same time
a41
They are also connected. If you match in one system you are automatically withdrawn from the other.
Classic
I believe the Canadian match occurs first so if you match in CaRMS then you are withdrawn from ERAS. Correct me if I'm wrong ....
parachutes
I've heard that as well.
Halcyon
I read something like that on the CaRMS website (what Classic stated).
Alastriss
I believe the Canadian match occurs first so if you match in CaRMS then you are withdrawn from ERAS. Correct me if I'm wrong .... this has been true, except for one year recently where for some reason ERAS came first. However it was due to some freak reason. The order of the match for the next five years is on one of the system's website or so I have been told. Its a great advantage for canadians. Some are better off, and no one is worse off .
