That's just from flipping through the MSAR...the 10% percentile at the top 20 schools is always 9 or 10. Of course there probably are some people with 8s who get in, but not many. If you don't want to retake...there are plenty of American schools that will be interested in you, just maybe not the top tiers. Do a search on mdapplicants.com for people with an overall score 34-38, with an 8 in verbal and a GPA around 3.9. premed11 Posted June 4, 2009 Report Share Posted June 4, 2009 I had a similar MCAT score (12PS/8VR/14BS) but retook it and bombed horrifically. That was when I wasn't planning on the US. token Posted June 7, 2009 Report Share Posted June 7, 2009 Texas schools have a completely separate application (TMDSAS) that you would have to fill out in in addition to AMCAS if you want to apply there. You should flip through the MSAR book, USNews data or this spreadsheet: http://premed101.com/forums/showpost.php?p=347936&postcount=16 and look for schools around your GPA/MCAT range and below.
