mattg
How vital is research for getting into US? I know they love research, but do they take people just as well without research? I am actually doing research this summer at Baycrest Hospital for an NSERC scholarship... but it's just this one summer, and I'm not gonna get a publication out of it... (also I did some lab work with my next year thesis prof for a month... is that even worth putting?)... it seems everyone has 3+ years of research (I hadn't really thought of it until this past year) thanks
silvermen85
Depending on the schools you are interested in. For most big name schools in the US, they are research heavy. Without some significant research experience, chances are you will not get an interview. That is assuming the other aspects of your application are solid as well. At least that's what I have experienced so far.
