Hi,

I will be entering second yr this fall and am in the midst of selecting my program. As of now I'm intending on doing a specialist in biology, and a minor in philosophy and bioethics or women studies.

I spoke to a friend recently and was told that someone who did something similar a yr or two ago recieved a B.A. instead of a Hons B.Sc. But I clearly remember hearing that you had a choice in chosing which bachelor you wanted at graduation. Is there any truth to this fact? And would anyone know if the Calendar/Registration Handbook contain information about this? I've searched but could not find anything. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi USN,

If you're at UT, have a look on the UT Arts & Science website under "Programmes". They used to house the degree information for each program at the top of each program's description. Otherwise and additionally, I assume you belong to a college? If so, give your college registrar's office a call with the question--they'll definitely be able to answer that for you, and with conviction!

Cheers,

Kirsteen

Your exact situation is not listed in the calendar, so contact your registrar. The info in the calendar is:

1 specialist in a science program -> H.B.Sc.

1 major + 2 minors -> B.Sc only if 2 of the programs were in sciences.

I'd guess the first situation applies to you.
