itimebomb2
I heard a rumour that Dal is currently defending its MD accreditation due to some scandal over mis-given MD licenses? Any truth to this?
doc2B
No! They are appealing the decision to be put on probation for 24-months. This was based on a number of items that the accreditation committee felt didn't meet appropriate standards. There was a discrepancy between the decision of the Canadian committee and the American committee however, and the probation will only be for the American accreditation if it goes ahead, there is no problem with the Canadian accreditation. The program will still remain accredited for the time of the probation if that goes forward and the faculty must improve on the items that didn't meet standards in order to remain accredited following the probation. As a current Dal student I'm not concerned about this situation. The school is already working hard to make many improvements and I'm sure they will go ahead and make any others necessary to remain accredited both in the US and Canada for the future.
