W2BMD
Hello; I am currently a grade 12 student going to school in Ontario. I know that I want to become a medical doctor, and my prefernce would be to go to UBC med. I was born in BC, and my entire family is moving back to BC in June. I am trying to decide between UBC or uVic for my undergrad. I know that I would prefer living in victoria, so I am now looking at the academic side. I completed SBI4U (grade 12 university biology) with a 95% so I definatly have a strong point in biology. If I could do any program I would do the Bio-Medical Sciences major at the University of Guelph (Guelph, Ontario), but uVic nor UBC offer this course. Basically, what I am trying to ask is whether I should go to UBC for a more specific program of my interest, like their Mircrobiology & Immunology program or whether I should pick uVic and go with a more general Biology degree (or Biochem). Any insights and suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank-you, W2BMD
Jamer
Your undergrad degree doesn't matter for almost every medical school in the country. Do whatever degree you have the most interest in and you think you'll be able to get a 3.8+ in.
