Letters of Interrest

Has anyone sent in "letters of interest" or update information to McGill?

 

You know, similar to what students do in the US.

That is more of an american thing to do... Are you IP or OOP?

McGill seems to go by a pre-determined numerical list, so I don't know that a LOI would help your case at all.

The waiting list, especially for IP applicants, hardly moves at all... Unlike in the US where they sometimes need to make offers to 3 or 4 times the number of students who actually attend. The american schools have an interest in finding students who are keen on going to their school in order to fill their class. McGill is not in the same situation.

 

Unless there is something major to update them on, I would not bother sending a letter.

Do it. If you don't get in, you'll always have that regret of not sending it because maybe it could have affected their decision. You have nothing to loose.
